Carriage House

In Bruges, Verstraete.team successfully completed the high-quality restoration of the historic carriage house at the De Groene Poort estate (circa 1862). With full respect for its heritage value, the building was carefully restored to its original appearance while incorporating modern comfort standards.

The works included structural stabilization of floor slabs and joists, repair of façade cracks, and a complete renovation of the building envelope using traditional masonry techniques and authentic joint finishing. The roof structure was fully renewed and finished with reclaimed Blue Boom clay tiles, reinforcing the building’s historic character. 

All exterior wooden joinery was meticulously reconstructed based on original profiles (40 m²), complemented by 60 linear meters of custom-made decorative moldings. Two façades were finished with traditional lime wash in the original red tone, harmonizing with the surrounding castle domain.
