At Verstraete.team, we combine a deep respect for historic heritage with contemporary construction techniques and digital innovation. We are proud to begin the renovation of the side building and the new extension of the iconic Capitole Ghent.

This project brings together the neoclassical architecture of the existing building with a contemporary extension that integrates seamlessly into the historic context. The result will be a future-oriented transformation of an important cultural landmark in Ghent.

The Capitole’s side building will undergo a thorough renovation and receive a new program:

1. New foyer on the ground floor
A representative entrance area that will welcome visitors in a high-quality setting and organize access to the theatre.

2. 812 m² of office space
Modern and functional office spaces will be created on the upper floors.

3. Restoration of heritage elements
The façade and several valuable ceilings will be carefully restored with full respect for the building’s historic identity.

4. New extension
A new annex will be constructed behind the existing building, architecturally and functionally integrated with the historic structure.
